Is it human nature?
    #18934189 - 10/05/13 12:52 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Is it human nature to ingest drugs that alter your mind, and body?  Or do we just use them because they make us feel good?  Like is there just an instinctual preprogrammed desire to get "fucked up"?

There's an instinctual desire to feel good and sometimes drugs make people feel good and so we've learned ro use them

Isn't the proof in the pudding? We consume them now so it is certainly human nature. The reasons vary from person to person. Cultures since the beginning of man have taken mind-altering substances, often in ritualistic setting.

I don't think it's programmed.  Some humans are just curious to try new things :awesome:

Perhaps; I think the answer can be found by figuring our the location between the nearest pure diamond of 5g or more and the tallest pine tree.

People are obsessed with novelty. Anything "different" is better. That's why we do anything at all. If we were satisfied with things the way they were, we wouldn't exist.

It's human nature to want to experiment with different levels of consciousness. Drugs are one thing that can offer that.
