New visitor-traveler-explorer
    #18934153 - 10/05/13 12:40 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Hi, new visitor/participant/explorer here.

Wonderful to find this website and forum. It’s been great to read so much helpful info here. (Renews my faith in the internet.)

Anyhow, in my case, found my way into this realm by way of a health issue – pretty serious cluster headache diagnosis  - serious enough to send me to the hospital a few times – but a visiting colleague from out of town a few weeks ago, followed through with a small supply of magic mushrooms and I did a dose. We had all been reading up on the continuing positive research into the role mushrooms may play in addressing cluster (a type of migraine) headaches.

The experience was wonderful but more importantly, the aftermath has been better than expected. There’s something to this.

I am now pursuing the steps involved in growing my own.
Think I’ll try the PF Tek method .. just go get a pressure canner.
Although I can actually obtain samples if needed from this colleague, I’m kind of a geek in the kitchen and garden (I make my own tofu; sprouts; gluten; yogurt; bread; etc., etc., etc.) and grow a ton of veggies and fruits .. so I’m just kinda’ wired to be creative and try it out myself.
The few remaining specimens I was given, I stored in the ‘fridge, and they quickly went moldy … duh … gee, that doesn’t happen to the regular supermarket mushrooms I buy? How come they last so long I wonder … oh well, no big loss. I’m going to need to learn the drying techniques I see outlined in this and other forums.

Great message board; glad to be here … a place to pose questions as they’ll surely arise.

Welcome to the shroomery! :hi:

How did the mushrooms help with the headaches? I remember watching a video about shrooms and those cluster headaches.  They look pretty damn awful to me.

Hi, thanks for comments!

Well, in my particular case, I do not actually have "headache pain" especially as the problem [all the time], but other neurological things ... distorted vision (the non-fun type); severe disorientation episodes; dizziness; and a few times loss of vision ... since taking the mushroooms; a whole lot has quieted down big time. Plus, the few issues of headaches that DO happen in my case have improved as well.

They were fine digestively, by the way .. no big nausea problems (yet)
; though I should mention, I worked with fairly low dosage.

I applied for, and was granted by my neurologists, documentation in the past, to receive medical MJ; that went ok too, but pretty much numbed me out a bit too much; However, with the mushrooms, I remained able to work on my music ... retain some clarity to be creative ,,, other things.

The constant "unquenchable" appetite issue using MMJ didn't appeal to me also.

if the low doses work, and give you minimal nausea, id stick with them, unlsess of course you want a recreational trip

for the weed thing, maybe you can try a cbd strain, i never tried one myself, but i think its supposed to be less of a head high, so maybe it would provide a bit more clarity than the normal stuff

Welcome to the Shroomery, MountainMusic. What instruments and kind of music do you play?

Thanks for inquiring!

2 instruments; well enough to have offered lessons (and to perform and record on) as well; keyboards and guitar.

In fact, during my mushroom experience back last week, I listened to my own recording(s) ... well, let me tell you: that there is one tremendously powerful and profoundly electrifying to experience one's own creative jewels while journeying,,, hearing something that gestated inside one's own heart and soul.

I have a CD up on Amazon .. but I make more sales of the thing from hand-to-hand.

Some of the pieces during the experience (like the fugues - I've written almost a hundred) felt too cerebral to listen to at times ... but the moody; spacy pieces transported me, it seemed.

:awesome:

Man that sounds like a very soulful experience. I'm a huge fan of creating music on psychedelics. I play bass myself, always wanted to learn the keyboard.

And yes I've found that spacey music is usually best when partaking in inter dimensional experiences.
