Have you seen the ring of fire video? he focuses chi on news-paper and it bursts in to flames. There's a full book and documentary about the guy, John Chang. He also pushes chops sticks through a table and performs operations with no anesthetic. The books called "The Magus of Java" The doco's called "ring of Fire" I think is from 1988.

Yeah, I've seen them and read the book by Kostas Danos, but many people say those are things a street magician could do and he is using potassium or another alkali metal like cesium.

I guess so much of this stuff is so elusive and hard to prove because the serious practitioners guard their techniques and abilities. This in itself opens the door for skeptics. But imagine if they did lay it all out on the table and it was proven, surely some big greedy corporation would find a way to patent it, sell it and/or misuse it. So I understand the secrecy.

Yeah, it is hard to prove. I notice that I have a hard time myself doing it in front of skeptics, and I'm not sure why. I think it has to do with the fact that I know they are judging and scrutinizing me.
But, I don't agree that it should be kept a secret, regardless of what critics think, those aren't the people who will benefit from the knowledge and practice anyway. It's the people with a truly open mind that will benefit so there isn't much of a reason to hide it imo.

Interesting video but this doesn't reflect on all the various sensational claims others have made. Humans can do some pretty amazing things.

It reflects that there is something going on, bringing objectivity to the subjective claim.
I never said it is proof, I said it is evidence.

What are you doing? Making goosebumps on your hand? I know I can't do that... but why does that mean you have "chi"?

I'm not the only one who can do this, others have found the same thing from the same practices.

Nah, it's just a visible side-effect from channeling chi. (A refined sort of qi)

Well you have my interest... I'd like to make myself have goosebumps... honestly I've never had them lol. Everyone else gets them when they are cold... but not me. But I'd also be interested in this "chi" you speak of. What video would you recommend I watch? I presume it will take a lot of practice?

I can make myself get goosebumps too. Never knew that meant I've been harboring this chi power the entire time.
Is there anything extraordinary you can do past this? I'm genuinely curious, I'm still just stuck with goosebumps and a dumb grin.

You can also learn to feel love infinitely as well as control your body temperature, and hold your breath for much longer, to name some other phenomena that come from these practices.
Well, the way I went about it is in my sig on "How to Awaken" and "After Awakening" , or you can check out Mantak Chia, (A Taoist Grandmaster) he has a bunch of free video's.

No I can just make myself do it when I'm happy for no reason. There's a feeling of moving in sync "with myself." But that's not important it doesn't give me any special powers it just makes me sorta happy sometimes. But I'm wondering if YOU get any special powers from it (figuratively speaking).

Well, if you can trace the mechanisms involved, you can probably do it whenever you want to. It is learning to control the normally autonomous system manually or consciously. It all begins with meditation. Trying to shut off the thoughts so you can move conscious awareness around. Generally it is fixated in a single place on the thoughts and in your eyes, the idea is to move it away from those areas of the brain to experience other parts of being, or the energy body.

I think specific frequencies of sound also help with this, check out some solfeggio harmonics or binaural beats if you want. Here is one of my favs:

True. I think many concepts from the past have found their parallels in science and as a skeptic one might tend to not see the correlations. I see the effect of chi in every concerted movement. It's only when people start spinning things in glass, or lighting things on fire with their supposed mind powers that I become the skeptic.

He will make some excuse and say it is biological rather than supernatural, which chi is biological. I think all of our cells are connected through the blastula on the quantum level. I mean all of our cells come from the same meristematic cells that form the blastula, before the differentiate. (Like in binary fission.)
