I'm gonna bump this, to say that I found a Slippery Jacks similar to the one you found and dried with heat in a dryer and it smells wonderful. It doesn't have much taste I added some to some broth, and the taste is good, but weak, but the smell is worth drying for them alone.

That's awesome news! I've been wondering about the taste. I have found them a few times since...should have grabbed a few! I will next time though! Thanks for remembering lil ole me lol :thumbup:

This time of year, you don't need a dehydrator if you have heat in your house, the air is dry enough that you just need a fan.

Nice... I dunno what the fungal activity is in the winter here.... never been in cold weather before... already getting really cold here, but everyone says winter hasn't even started yet!

don't know, probably depends on the year, but there's probably not much of break in stuff fruiting where you live, unless is it's an unusually cold year.
