so I went on more of a hike than a hunt, but I did find a few cool things here and there on my way up.... all found in mixed forest (mainly oak and pine I believe) all on a trail leading up a large ridge side between 500' and 1450'. #1 found in the parking lot, on the side of a hill growing from moss, red clay and pine needles

#2 found on buried wood (oak?) literally on like a 50 degree incline, so sorry about the crapy pics....I couldn't stop sliding

#3 was growing from some sort of nut shell, it looked like, in a water run off. very small.

#4 just on the side of the trail

#5 I thought was a Cortinarius iodes at first but now im thinking that's not right, it has a brownish cap...??

#6 I believe is an Auricularia auricular (wood ear) first one I have found and only one I found lol

and here are some randoms...sorry about the picture quality... im still workin on that. thanks!

 a yin&yang tree
I think this was a chip monk playing hide and seek with me lol
towards the top of the ridge

this was some sort of fungi inside of a fallen log

this was a GIANT freakin spider that ran into a hole in a fallen tree
and last but not least, a russula with a little worm of some sort taking a nap in the stipe!
thanks again and sorry about the crapy pics...

Joust, Gravija, Alan, Bob, Tmethyl, and others.
Not me. I don't have a nice camera.

1. Looks like a Leccinum sp.
5. is certainly a Cortinarius of some sort.
It appears you had a good time, nice pictures!

Nice place to hunt
First mushroom looks like Suillus salmoncolor, 2 I don't know, 3 is Mycena luteopallens, the Walnut mycena, pretty much always found on Hickory nuts or Walnuts 4 is a Cortinarius as is 5 The wood ear, is a cup fungus, a Peziza and the fungus in the log is probably Coniophora puteana

lol... I read those tips on the main page of the MH&I and I spoke with alan a few times on the subject, just trying to dial in the setting I guess...and that sunlight is brutal when trying to get the real color to show in the picture...they are getting better tho...slowly but surely ... ive got mad respect for photographers now though! I thought before " oh, all they do is just point a camera and push a button" HA! I wish lol

The Cortinarius is saweet looking! Love the third pic down and the last. It looks so much like something you would see an artist draw. You know it looks like the common groovy shrooms you see in psychedelic art.
Yellow ones growing from some kind of nut was cool as heck! Mushie nuts lmfao
Chipmunk they are quick lil fuckers aint day! I read somewhere you follow the chipmunks because they move spores. Theyre like a minnie deer the way the maneuver over the landscape. Youve got closer to a clear pic then I so far of one. ALVIN! Simon, Theodore. Do do, do do do doot, do doot do doot do do!
I dint see no spida no I seent a spidas!
Beautiful place the first pics of the path reminded me of home. Then I saw those cliffs! Wow! That pond. Whats that sign say? No wading? Aside from the tall hills where youre at looks different then I would expect Georgia to be like. Based on this one place...I like it!
That Yin yang tree is an artists eye at work. Great pic mayn! Love it!

If it was younger it might have the yellow spots on the cap and it would be easy. As it is now, you'd have to smell, taste and look at the spores and I don't know that even that would narrow it down.
