Weird Mushrooms...

Strain: B + Area: Mono Tub Sub: Coco Coir + Verm Humidity: Not sure? Temps - 68 At Night & Up To 74 In The Day.
I've got a really good pin set and most of the substrate is covered. Here's the problem though, the mushrooms are all different sizes. Some are really fat at the base and look like they are going to be monsters. Others are really skinny and tall. Some of them are fat and skinny and already opened up the caps, some of them opened up the caps as soon as they pinned. Some of them have really dark caps and some have golden caps. It's so odd..
I'm not sure what to do.. I think I'm just going to let the ones that opened up the caps continue to grow, as they look like they still have potential but the caps are just small.
Any input on this?
I've heard people say it's genetics, it's the substrate used, or even it's the humidity and water content levels?
If it really is genetics.. I made some G2G's to use for the next batch. Does that mean they will turn out the exact same way?
Any way to prevent this in the future?
Input is appreciated.

Don't forget fresh air exchange. If the holes in your monotub are stuffed properly (tight on the bottom holes, loose on top) then the conditions within the monotub should be ideal assuming the bulk substrate was prepared at field capacity.

Everything was prepared right. And the holes are stuffed properly. There is lots of FAE.

That's what you get with MS usually. Sometimes i had that issue as well but in the second flush you'll get nicer fruits. You should take a nice clone so you know what you get. The g2g jars could be different. It is random with ms. Sometimes you get monsters sometimes you just get some weird ones.

I don't quiet understand how to clone yet. As for the second flush should I just wait till they get as big as they possibly will, then pick them and spray the heck out of the container and wait for more? I've seen some TC's say they don't even dunk their tub, that they just give it a good heavy spray. I'd feel more comfortable doing it that way.

Probably genetics. Can we get a pic? I was wondering about this myself because I'm also growing from MS and there's a lot of variety in my pinset.
Some stand straight up and some look like they fell down and grew sideways. Some have perfectly round caps and some are really pointy, some are fat and some are skinny. (this is starting to sound like a Dr. Seuss book) Your shrooms sounds way crazy though, would love to see it.

Let them go way longer doesn't look like much, all the pins can still grow its still too early, the fruits have different genetics so they all won't open early ( hopefully)

Woah, cool! Your pinset is much prettier than mine. Mine is all over the place like Einstein's hair.

Yeah its 100%. What you're seeing is chunks of a top layer I put on that was never going to colonize anyways. I assure you it was colonized under it.

I wonder why the caps opened while they were still so tiny? Is that what they call an abort?

No idea... that's what I'm trying to figure out. I thought aborts had black caps, which I can't seam to find any.

No, they are not aborts. Bad genetics or bad grow conditions buddy

If the original source was multispore then you actually have various substrains that grow out, multi-spore = multi genetics. From my experience, it helps if you thoroughly mix your spawn with your bulk when you are prepping the tub/tray. Really really really mix it up well. The idea is that the most dominant genetics will take over and you will have less losers, and less "sub sectoring" within your substrate when it colonizes.

Saying that - just because a genetic is dominant in terms of colonising the sub it does not necessarily indicate that it will be a heavy fruiter or particularly potent

Isolate to Agar, and see if you can get another tray that does the same. Those guys look cool, and they are probably still just as potent.
