Is it relatively safe to keep contaminated jars in another room?

I'm not necessarily growing contaminants, but would like to do some work involving them. My first experiment is just to see how mycilia responds to pressure cooked, eg sterilized, contaminants in general so I wouldn't imagine they'd pose much of a risk anyhow, but want to make sure I'm being reasonable safe before proceeding. I have no intention of opening the jars, just inoculating through a self healing injection port.
Should these jars prove much of a contamination hazard for other work simply by having them in the house? I would assume not as the filter should prevent them from even leaving the jar, but everyone always says to remove any contaminated jars as soon as you spot them so it doesn't spread. I'm not sure how it could spread if your filters are fine though, is this just said out of fear? Is there anything to really worry about here?

As long as you keep them sealed, there shouldn't be any issues. Hell, I accidentally left this bad boy in the closet of the room I grow in for several weeks and nothing bad came of it. Accidentally forgot about it after I spotted a small contam and set it aside.

Just don't let those spores/bacteria/whatever get out and you'll be fine.
