Casing pan subbs, Let me tell ya what they do in the Netherlands where MJ shroomer went and visited, you can go to his site and find the pics and descriptions....From the descriptions and pics looks to be st aw to casing with a horse poo compost....and lots of fresh air.....and an isolated or cloned strain of subbs.......but check his site out and look how damn potent them Pan subbs get when you treat em right, give em what they need, and isolate , and isolate....and again isolate...lol....so after a few flushes you will have some clone grows of the best fruits going.....and let them mix so you don't end up all inbreed......lol...... below here is what I would do,,,and also there are some tips that I gave For ALL panaeolus species....
they start the pan subbs and cubensis on straw, by the way the isolation of the best fruits will yield potent subbs that are just as potent as any cube but provide a cleaner experience, more visual less body load.........So straw........Look that up... Casing consist of a quarter inch......which is like a sprinkle, all over the substrate evenly.......The casing is a compost. Either Composted horse Manure, which is best or cow...You can add a cup or so of Vermiculite to it to make it fluffy and hold its moisture.....Also important, You must sterilize that casing layer......I dont care what people say, When growing in a small closed tub, the airflow just aint enough to stop the green and cobweb from growing, which happens ALLOT ON POO .....so sterilize it. OR.......Take what your gonna use, go get hydrogen peroxide from store, a few bottles, enough to soak all your substrate casing.......get a bucket put in your casing substrate, dump in enough peroxide to make it float, you want muddy water. Then after stirring for 10 minutes, pour that into a pillow case. let the hydrogen peroxide drain and let the pillow case, recollect your CLEANER POO casing.....let it dry completely........Than sprinkle it onto your grow, you want it to be under a quarter inch, or up to.......And just take a bottle of water with a cupful of hydrogen P and spray the casing until moist........IMPORTANT.......AIRFLOW FOR ALL PAN SPECIES MUST BE SUFFICIENT.....allot more than you would do for cubensis.....this is a must...AND CAME DIRECTLY FROM ALAN ROCKEFELLER....so with all his exp....I would pay attention and he put extreme emphasis on that.....What you can do is take a pillow case, or sheet, cut it to fit the top of your tub and enough to go over the edges about 4 inches........Cut out just one layer that size.....Sterilize that with bleach water then allow to dry..........u can use a spray bottle.........then put on top of tub and tape it down DUCT TAPE........and place by window allowing fresh air......If temps are too cold...just put heating pad under the tub, keep the inside temp in the high 70's to mid 80's and its gonna be hard......to keep the humidity high..but as long as you keep that casing a bit moist your fine..............leave it for a couple weeks............if it dont fruit it 2 weeks...then take a bottle of clean water and hydrate .....well flood the tub.....and let sit for a half hour...then dump off the water by carefully tilting tub and re case.............or dont case........I would re case....... GOOD LUCK there are other ways.....but remember POO casing........FLUFFY........VERMICULITE....helps with the fluffy........DO NOT ALLOW THE CASING TO SIT SOAKED>>>>>IF YOU DO SOAK IT MAKE SURE IT DRYS OUT>>>>AND JUST KEEP MISTING IT LIKE NATURE DOES>>>RAINS>...then no rain........RAINS.......So oh yeah......just reminded me....if mushrooms give you problems fruiting......Usually teaching them a lesson helps.......TRICK THEM into thinking they are not caged and make think there outdoors......so the fresh air, sheet cut out top to allow maximum air flow..........but here is the trick.......ALLOW THE WHOLE TUB TO DRY OUT FOR A WEEK......yes........DO NOT WATER......make sure casing goes completely dry....then after a week.....HIT IT WITH ENOUGH WATER TO TH ROUGHLY HYDRATE............and drain off excess........That will let the mycelium know that HEY<<<<<I DONT HAVE PERFECT conditions.........I better send up fruits while I can!!!! before the rains stop!!! lol....same thing nature does........Kinda like wood lovers.....all summer the patches sit,,,,,go kinda a few inches into the soil, underneath the wood chips, feeding slowly,,,on the moisture that exist,,,praying that they get rain some time.......hiding ....hoping......then the fall comes and the rains......BAMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mushrooms start to celebrate,,,,,everyone comes together and wants to grow up through the wood chips and suck up all that rain they have been deprived of for so long......oh yeah......and they just remember after a month.......this wont last forever so let send out the SPORES and reproduce...SO THAT MEANS MUSHROOMS!! SO point is imitate nature as best as possible...........even cubensis can be picky, but change up the routine and quite spoiling them with all that moisture for a little bit,,,and they start to remember that they need to fruit and reproduce when conditions are right.......so when they get that water, they fruit..........like a wood lover patch and lots of shrooms...will just chill and keep on expanding the mycelium network giving perfect conditions and no reason to fu it......EVENTUALLY they will fruit even in perfect conditions but they sure as hell wont make it a point to....lol......So like wood lovers...you gotta let em suffer a bit during the summer,,,,,,hell they do in nature.......then the temps drop....they quit sweating........they get comfy........they get wet.....and then they get wild........lol alrighty then...
