ID Request - Liberty Caps?

Habitat: Field
Gills: Brown, attached, gills.
Stem: 2-3 inches, white/tan, straw-like texture, seem to be hollow, thin
Cap: 1/4 in - 1 in, tan/brown, conical
Spore print color: In process, but looks dark
Bruising: haven't noticed any

The older mushrooms did not flatten out like those pictured in the above link, they stay conical. The Psathyrella sp. also seem to have a distinct dark ring around the edge that my mushrooms don't have.

There are hundreds (thousands?) of different Psathyrella species, and they don't all look exactly the same.

Psathyrella sp.
Psathyrella is a large genus and this is one species from that genus
Looks a whole lot like Psathyrella gracilis or related species to me

Psathyrella is a large genus of mainly fragile little mushrooms with a thin brittle stem, dry flimsy cap and dark spore-print, such as the species you found. Liberty caps are very different.

Yeah I'm looking at more posts now on here on shroomery. Seems like libs have a pretty slimy cap and thicker stem.

Not slimy, although maybe slippery when wet - slimy little ones are usually Protostropharia semiglobata or a flimsy Bolbitius. Psilocybe semilanceata caps are generally a little bit viscid, although they dry smooth, and yes the stem is fibrous.
