Psilocybe Gallindoi Dosage (me): Seven grams Dosage (my friend): Five grams
Hello! This will be my first post here here in Shroomery (though I have been dwelling as an unregistered user for a couple of years) and I am delighted to be a part of this like-minded community. First off, let me get some irrelevant stuff about myself out of the way. I'm a twenty year old male who has been experimenting in Psychedelics for a couple of years now. I have experience with LSD, AL-LAD, LSZ, Mescaline, DMT, 4-aco-DMT, AMT, MDMA, various NBOMe's (though I ceased use of them when 25-c-nbome caused me to have a seizure in public, and caused a substantial negative impact on my personal life) and of course Mushrooms! I have used the following species of Mushrooms: Cubensis, Cyanescens (my favorite I have tried by far, hence my name), and a more peculiar species called Gallindoi.
Now, this trip report is not about me; well to a point it is. It's mainly about my friend whom I tripped with on that day. My friend got an oz of Psilocybe Gallindoi shrooms for sixty bucks. They're a bit weaker than normal shrooms, but for the price, we thought it was totally worth it. My friend was not as experienced with psychedelics as me, having only done 1.5g of Cyanescens and one hit of 25-i-nbome in his life. Whereas I am a polished psychonaut. But anyway, I took about a quarter, and my friend took 5 grams. For the most part, we were having an awesome trip. Once they had been in effect for a half hour or so we listened to Echoes by Pink Floyd until it became too intense for us. After that, we went for a walk in the woods. It had rained hours before that, and the water droplets glistened all over the surrounding plant life. It was absolutely gorgeous.
However, on our walk back home, something bad happened. My friend started to claim that out of nowhere the trip felt like it was escalating at an unusually accelerated pace, and that it didn't feel completely right. All of a sudden, he collapsed. Straight down, onto his back. Seeing as to how I was on a quarter, I felt a terrible presence come over me. Did my friend just die somehow? Luckily I saw his eyes start to flutter and he came to. He didn't die or anything like that, mushrooms are unbelievably safe physiologically. But he constantly passed out, he looked very pale, his legs had tremors, and to top it all off the trip made it feel far worse for him and made him freak out about it like I had never seen. Might I remind you my friend is much bigger than me; as in at least 1.5 times my size.
Luckily, he rode it out. I got him a ride home, walked him up to his bed, told his brother what was up, and let him rest.
This honestly happened a couple of months ago, and since then we have been speculating as to what may have caused that. He did not have a reaction like that with Cyanescens or Cubensis in very similar doses/strengths, yet somehow Gallindoi put him through Hell on Earth! We have been thinking that somehow he had an intolerance to that specific species of mushrooms. I do know that is something that rings true in many mushrooms including non-psychedelic species. Some mushrooms are said to be inedible and cause intestinal distress, yet some people can eat them without any problems. And it goes the other way around too. That's what I am betting on, but I wanted to get some input from all of you as well. What do you think? Thank you, Cyanesam
