Father Time
    #18928442 - 10/03/13 10:06 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Anyone else feel as if time just goes by to fast. When I was younger it felt as if I had all the time in the world to waste, after graduating high school it seems as if someone just stepped on the gas peddle now I'm in my mid thirties! It seems as if the only time it goes slow anymore is while working or out of meds lol! Pink Floyd was right, and then one day u find,10 years have got behind you, no one told you when to run, u missed the starting gun! As if I have to write those words for everyone on here, but it's true time stops for no man;(

Might be because you wrote "u" instead of "you" etc. In answer to your question, I'm in my early 30s and I do find that a year feels like a much shorter amount of time than it used to. Often that's a good thing though, compared to when you're a kid and the 6-8 weeks to get the thing you ordered from the cereal box feels like forever.

Childhood is perceived to go for so long because everything is so new and wonderful, routine makes time go fast. Do lots of new things.

When I was a child my father told me some wise words regarding the perception of time and why it seems to pass with increasing pace.

"Every year that goes by is a smaller percentage of the life you've lived as a whole."

Here it is.

When you where 5 years old Christmas felt like forever to come again the next year.

Why, because it is going to be 1/6 of your life. 1/6th of your whole fucking life, a year was 1/6 of your whole god dammed life.

By the time we are in our mid 30's, on more year aint shit, that's less than 1/30th of your life. Shit comes quick.

Great replies to everyone except the dude that said, well I think he's a troll it says so right there next to his avatar, anyway I always feel as if I need to replie to everyone's post still being fairly new here so I just wanted to get that out of the way so people know I'm not being an asshole and thinking one reply is better than the other and that's why I replied to that one person that being said its not the case I would just never be able to do it (as u guys know I'm sure (guilty concience I guess) anyway I really did not understand your post at first sheekie, but anunnakian explained it. U guys are some smart mofos because I never looked at it that way but your exactly right! But it's funny because like at work Most all the younger kids coming in love me and I associate well with them but I also do the older guys but not so much as the kids. So I guess I'm not that old it just seems as if life is flying by. Plus 7 years ago my wife passed when my son was 18 months old. I started hitting the bottle hard he is 9 now I guess that's whats got me feeling this way. 8months now w/o a drink I hope I NEVER touch the shit again luckily my parents stepped in and helped me out a lot. Whew that was a lot to get off my chest sorry for the rant! This site has helped out a lot believe it or not it's almost as if mushrooms gave me a new lease on life:)

When your ten, 1 year is 1/10 your life, seems longer.

When your 50, 1 year is 1/50, so it seems less. Im expecting to wake up one day and be 30, and remember being my age now. I think about this alot.

Really the only moment that truly matter and the moment that is truly us is when we are on our death bed, dying.
