A better question would be: " Why is the CDC shut down, but not the DEA?"

I take that back then. The original announcement included CDC.

Why should anyone really care if NASA is shut down for a little while though?

The media has deceived us with theatrical statements. This govt. shutdown is akin to the section of walmart with light bulbs being closed and saying "walmart is bankrupt."

Why's this even a question, I wonder, as it is pretty obvious. The government has different priorities than you do, so they make certain decisions that you probably won't agree with.
Unfortunately for you, you've got about zero control over this

Tell that to all the low income mothers and children that depend on WIC if this shut down lasts any longer. People seem to think that it's a joke because they haven't felt the consequences of it.

I get what your saying but it does affect people though. My cousins husband is a park ranger at the big thicket in texas and he's on unpaid furlough til further notice. They have two kids to raise so Its definitely a serious issue for some that aren't getting a paycheck.

Who the fuck really cares about NASA anyways. Private corporations are going to be the future, not some defuct government funded system that can't even keep a telescope in the sky and keeps blowing up shuttles.
