A question of strain/difficulty?

Hello everybody, I'd first like to say, that I've only had an account for a day but that the shroomery is an amazing community of people and I'm very happy to be a part of it and no longer just reading threads. So this question concerns strains of shrooms and differing difficulties in producing them. I've been heavily interested in growing for a long time. Since the first time I ingested this magical substance, I knew this was something I had to try. Anyway, the only problem I have is that around me, the only stuff moving around are weak P. Cubenises that look similar to Golden Teachers. Now I appreciated these and the experience but wish to find something more potent. I don't necessarily mean P. Cyans or anything because A.) I assume they have different conditions tht may not be optimum for a first timer and B.) I'd like to wait until I feel that I'm ready for an experience that strong. So basically what I'm wondering is, what is a very potent strain of cubes? Or something with a higher psilocybin content? I did look this up in the search first, I'm just curious of people's personal Opinions and experiences with these. I used to buy 8ths for 20 cut off of pound bags that I now think were very dry and potentially old. Thus I'd just like an experience more powerful, without having to eat a much more substantial amount of fungi. THANK YOU EVERY/ANYONE IN ADVANCE for whatever knowledge you have. Also, every time I have taken them, it was the same strain from the same source.

Oh ohh the water... Oh the water... I dont care if it rains all day."

Psilocybe azurescenes are strongest, then cyanescenes(pans or psilocybe) psilocybe azurescenes and cyans are difficult to cultivate. However pan cyans are relatively easy, even for the first timer.

Btw golden teachers are cubensis. Dont listen to that strain bullshit either. Cubes are cubes. They are all pretty mu h the same. Youve had one, youve had em all. K?

Well some say that PE (penis envy) seem to be a bit more potent than other cubes, although that's still just speculation at this point. Other than that you're looking at Panaeolus cyanescenes which are a tropical species just like cubes and have a really similar environment (not to be confused with psilocybe cyanescenes which is a lignicolous (wood inhabiting) species that grows in colder weather.

so, pan cyans are a lot more potent than cubes but grow in roughly the same conditions?

They have roughly the same conditions, correct. They don't yield as much but they make up for it in potency.

Yeah they grow in roughly the same conditions. Pan cyans need a shallower substrate and they also need a thin casing layer. They don't necessarily need dung as a substrate, but it is optimal to use dung. They can be fruited on cased grains with poor results.

Most use a verm peat/casing (need to buffer the peat).

Supa thank you for that info, that only serves to prove tht I must experiment with other sorts. I was thinking maybe penis envy, and I'll definitely check out pans. Thank you very much y'all.

This thread has been closed.
Reason: Strain name is irrelevant with P cubensis. We have a 'strain thread' at the top of the page since it has nothing to do with what you'll eventually get. It's marketing.
