This friendly cricket decided my leg was a good place to bum a ride while I went for a hike the other day.

This guy was in a hard to capture spot... basically had to shoot these blindly, relying on the focus beeps to let me know if it was in frame and in focus... honestly, I feel like the best ones were the ones I was able to get with my phone camera....

These spiders have drastically decreased in numbers over the years... for the last 7 years I haven't seen a single one.... the other day I found one in my garden ... The only thing I wasnt happy to see is that she is eating my bees... just like the crab spiders... :frown:

Today she was gone, fearing that the birds may have discovered her....;(
-Hopefully she left behind a healthy egg sac, and hopefully they survive the winter~

This is a Female Argiope trifasciata, also known as the banded garden spider,  banded orb spider, etc...
