True, but even that is hard when you really think about it. If the smartest person in the world told you this place was flat and everyone around you said the same it's hard to believe otherwise, naturally you'd simply come to accept it as such until you see proof to counter it.

Dumb in retrospect maybe, you can't blame people for working with what they have as far as knowledge goes. They probably thought something even more dumb before they concluded the world was flat so from that perspective they'd made great progress and were rather intelligent. Not arguing though, your point's very valid and I run into problems of misinformation all the time on here, but it's all relative.
edit: and yes, lets get back to the beans please, I would love some magic beans

I'm all for bean talk, I just want valid discussion because I might look back one day wanting to try it for myself.
Oh and anecdotal evidence is not the same as the "false facts" I'm talking about.
