super dirty pressure cooker
    #18925847 - 10/03/13 01:19 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Hey all,
i got a PC that has a damn dirty grossness going on. There's a thin film of residue made up of BRF and oil from oiling the gasket all over this thing! Conventional soaking and scrubbing gets rid of a bit, but mostly just moves it around the surface. Anybody else had this issue? I cleaned the hell out of it this spring soaking in restaurant style de-greaser and running through an industrial dishwasher, but do not have access to said equipment at this time. Ideas? Thanks

have you tried filling it up with warm soapy water and or bleach and then rinsing it out well?

maybe try something that will soak up the oily residue like sawdust and add some sand to give it some exfoliating glory.

i think maybe you used too much oil though. less than a teaspoon will coat my gasket and i've never had a problem wiping it off with a towel.
