then you're an idiot.
A non-corporeal, non-physical entity cannot interact with the physical world. And it certainly cannot make stomping noises on wooden floors while drifting through walls.

Was your point of this thread to just try to offend people who may believe in them or something? Lame thread.

No reason to be, I used to be like you too thinking people were gullible for believing in them, but then I've actually seen things happen in front of me that really have no other explanation no matter how hard I tried to think about it.

So just 'cos' you did not understand what you were witnessing, you bypassed all rational explanations and just jumped right to ghost?

When i see an actual person who i know has already passed away standing in front of me then i guess the general term and conclusion is that you've seen a "ghost" yes!

Well it took me and 2 other family members seeing the same non physical human silhouette to actually believe it. Prior to that there were a bunch of other weird occurrences that I just ignored. And no, no drugs involved. Feels kinda odd tellin people who don't believe in them what happened, but I honestly can't find another normal explanation for that.

Are there such things as imagination, projection, wishful-thinking, day-dreaming and hallucinations?

Ah yes, a silhouette. Most convincing.
Check out this link: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/624804#624804. Several hundred thousand witnesses saw this image of the Virgin Mary in glass. They could not all be wrong.
Nor could the 10,000 Phoenix Lights witnesses who saw an alien mothership (read: military flares) and got nearly every detail of the sighting wrong.

Semantics. Ok, how would you know that ghosts are really non physical then? If people have actually seen them, then I guess they're physical by what you're saying. So instead of trying to be technical about it, just say it, you just want to say people who have claimed to see them are crazy
I don't even think you can use physics to disprove something that apparently isn't even of the world we know.
And by the way the silhouette, I guess you could call it wasn't near any window or around any surface that would've tricked all 3 of us. It was on top of the stairs moving past them.
I still don't believe in God, but I definitely saw what I saw, so I don't really have a choice to believe it. I'm not talking about a shadow or something, it was clearly human shaped.

For one thing, to identify something as ghost you would have had to have previously encountered a ghost to compare it to.
My point with the other two examples is that people had a very long time to scrutinize such objects and still got it very wrong.
There was a famous non-hoaxed internet photo or video of a 'ghost'. After a few years someone figured it out. It was the reflection off the glass of someone else in the room not visible in the image.
As to your specific question, I have insufficient evidence to give an opinion.

I certainly don't believe in ghosts myself, but it strikes me that you're presenting this as fact when in actuality all it is is opinion.

I have seen countless so called "paranormal" activity. I was also either loaded or in a strange mind state of being between awake and dreaming. I have never seen or heard anything that couldn't be explained rationally... Bear in mind you could have just been hallucinating. Drugs or no drugs. You can't trust your own perception.

That's why I believe what I saw, because it just wasn't my own perception, 3 people saw the same thing, so that seems highly unlikely.

I'm not saying I saw a bunch of detail in what I saw, couldn't make out faces or clothes or anything like that. But all 3 of us saw kind of a foggy looking shape of a human moving across the top of the stairs as we were goin up them, only lasted like 3-5 seconds.
But it wasn't somethin I could just shrug off as a shadow or something like that. Haven't seen anything like that since though. But if someone else told me and I hadn't seen it myself I probably wouldn't believe it either.

One mo' time: how you get from "I don't know what it was," to "It was a ghost!"
I have done several threads on why ghosts and UFOs are seen predominantly at night.

Please give the universal characteristics of a ghost and then tell us where that came from.

Me and some older kids were on my back porch one night at dusk and two red lights appeared in the woods beyond. The lights moved closer to the yard and everyone was quiet whispering in frantic voices. Emerging from the woods a ghost burst forth and everyone on the porch sprung up and ran for their lives in panic. It was my father, fucking with us using a sheet and two military flashlights with red lenses.

I don't think there are universal characteristics of a ghost, but that would stop me from using the word to describe phenomena that I associate with the word.
