Im hoping these are some actives, Panaeolus cyanescens, I found these growing out of some cow shit, in a field. I am taking some spore prints now and will add them when they are finished.
Are actives the only shrooms that grow from cow shit? If not, do any poisonous shrooms grow from cow shit? These were found after some rain in a what looks like the be a few days old cow shit.

These look like Panaeolus papilionaceus with those veil fragments on the edge of the cap. You're looking in the right places though. Pan cyan will bruise very obviously blue.

Thanks TimmiT, thats a shame.. I will go back and have another look around, Im not sure if its still the season now or not so might be wasting my time with searching... gotta admit though I love being out there in nature.
The cows have that rope thing to there nose to so the owners can tie them to a post at night. Cows are pretty valueable here in Thailand and the majority of people dont have fences around their properties.. cows seemed pretty happy

I just looked up Panaeolus papilionaceus , the map on wiki indicates they dont grow in Thailand, perhaps they are something else?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panaeolus_papilionaceus_var._papilionaceus
If they are in fact Panaeolus papilionaceus , do they grow in the same weather and season as Panaeolus cyanescens? Basically wanting to know if they are around then will is that a sign the season is still on for the cyans..

Panaeolus papilionaceus grows everywhere that cows defecate. We should find whoever wrote that wiki page and get 'em right in the kidney.

The stipes are too sturdy and majorly coated in pruinesence for any of the grass-landish Psathyrella I know about. I agree with Panaeolus. Im not all that opposed to P. papilionaceus, particularly since it is so variable in appearance.

Hi welcome to the Shroomery. It's customary here to create your own thread for ID requests, please do not thread-jack in the future. You have Panaeolus antillarum, not active.
