Brf crumbled into coir/verm/peat 9 days ago. Not my first grow but it's been several years. There's some sort of mycelial growth over the whole substrate, but it's in much thinner stands than I was expecting. It smells like nothing but shrooms so I'm pretty hopeful, but I'd like a more professional opinion because my research hasn't given me any definitive answers. Thanks in advance.

That's just the camera. There's no redness in there.

9 days. My concern is coming from the fact that, while there is growth over the entire substrate, it doesn't look like the mycelium as it grew in the jars, or the mycelium that is around the BRF chunks. It's much thinner. Does it typically spread like this and then thicken up? or should I be seeing only the thick ropey strands that I saw in the jar?

Yes, when you chop up the cakes and put into a bigger substrate the myce
goes back into a "seek and find" mission. Where it spreads out at a faster
rate trying to stake it's claim on nutrients and water then it starts
to thicken up. With bulk you can usually just fruit as soon as 100%
of the surface is colonized. Cubes also dont really need a casing
layer to fruit in case you planned on using one.

Peat is for casing layers. Leave it out of the coir/verm if you're using it as a bulk substrate in the future.
