Exactly!  At least someone understands my point.

Sorry Enlil, I will agree on the case of selling hitman. I don't support all black markets... But tax evasion? For fucks sakes if the government let me pay taxes for my drugs instead of trying to arrest me and forcing me into a black market of adulterated products and inflated prices I would gladly do so every single time. But it's hardly tax evasion if you're buying products which aren't available with tax. I don't even know how it's logical to chastise people for not paying taxes that don't exist... Now I don't know what else they were selling that could have easily been done with honest legitimate business, but sadly that comes with the territory

Just heard the news... my thoughts go out to DPR and his services will be dearly missed.  I'll surely do anything in my power to help him out if at all possible.

Someone has to set up in his place; let's get to work!
..or, better yet, it was a scapegoat and DPR is still out there.

I declared it as "other income."  It was a significant amount of money, but it wasn't for a long period of time...only one year.

For you to still say that you honestly think drug dealers could regularly pay taxes on their transactions makes me think you are just trolling at this point. The IRS isnt going to sit by and let someone claim thousands of dollars year after year without saying what they are doing, and having no other income

The IRS doesn't care as long as taxes are paid.  The DEA might, but the IRS certainly doesn't give a shit.

Actually they do care if you are making the money illegally and they are just another branch of govt. just as the DEA. They are all part of the same system

The IRS doesn't investigate whether you're making money illegally, and the tax code is very clear that even illegal income counts as income for the purposes of taxation.

Correct, it's how they got big time gangsta's in the early years. Not paying taxes, regardless of where the income came from

And it is pretty ridiculous to assume that the IRS does not communicate with the agencies that DO investigate illegal activity . . .

The point is that I'm against people victimizing other people.  If you believe drug dealing is a victimless crime, then so be it...but tax evasion certainly isn't.  If one can't deal drugs without victimizing people, then one shouldn't deal drugs.

Enlil you were talking about how they had hired guns and stolen CC info on there.

Now saying drug dealers should pay taxes even though they will be investigated and jailed for doing so.

Really? because I thought your point was about taxes originally. You have been going on about the lack of taxes being paid. And I do not think, and never implied, that dealing drugs was a victimless crime. Although there are plenty of things that are legal and taxed that have plenty of victims such as alcohol, tobacco, prescription meds, fast food . . .

My point being, the whole war on drugs is ludicrous and it is just as ludicrous to expect someone to pay money to a govt. that would imprison them for making that money

It's not ludicrous to expect people to pay their fair share to the government for the services they provide.  That's what I expect from everyone, whether their living is made illegally or not.

If they can't earn their living without fucking over everyone else, they should find another profession.

It's not like it's difficult.  Any drug dealer could declare their income as gambling winnings and no one would raise an eyebrow.  They don't do it because they don't want to pay taxes...plain and simple.

Not surprised in the least the way all you little chatterboxes talk about it as if it's invincible and stuff. I've been telling people to hush about it for a couple years now and I was always dismissed.

That said, I sure do love my garden.

the gov't provides me with a road, so i pay the road & bridge tax... the gov't provides me with inspection for my meat & poultry, so i gladly pay the sales tax on those, and all other legal goods... the gov't makes damn sure they get income tax, my employer makes sure of it for them... as for any drug money, what service does my gov't provide in that area?.. risk of imprisonment?.. why the fuck would i pay for that... if they wanna play fair, i will too...

ever been to a casino, or the track?.. if so, you'd know that if there are any SUBSTANTIAL winnings involved, the IRS has an office there to discuss the details of such... not really gonna work too well...

i think yr stretching the limit of the term "victim" when saying that a dealer not paying taxes hurts people...

I don't think your average drug dealer would even know what a tax form is. The most likely only know the food stamps, child support, govt handout forms

Yes, I've been to many casinos...I've won significant amounts in them, too.  There is no IRS office, and I've no idea what you're talking about.  You're legally required to report any winnings, and you don't always get paperwork.  Anyone could declare any amount of winnings.
