when i first saw the SR logo in the seizure message i immediate thought it was a publicity stunt. and it will be back up this weekend with twice the traffic as before.

and i'm not the only one...https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=306432.0

i am thinking it may actually be legit, i never read into the owner of SR but for this to happen it proves that the idea behind SR being uncrackable was BS... the guy never should have been in the USA, and he should not have been alone because if other people can take over it will prove he's not actually in charge and get him closer to freedom.

my bro got a lot of tramadol for his backpain there cheaply, the docs wouldn't prescribe him them

so seems like he might get sick soon instead of work

it's the same here, docs wouldn't prescribe me morphine when I had kidney stones...
and they wanted to change my lifestyle etc., are you a smoker,...? you smoke weed,...?

the system is in stress, trying to change your and my life all the time

the only way we can change it is be a good example to others, help others, accept others, be how you want others to be
soon society will change....  or you will change away from society and meditate in nature

I would have to say that 90% of the busts related to online sites is due to human error and not actually the site being cracked/broken.

In this case it was an old account he registered using his info a long time ago before SR was created. I imagine if he actually knew how big this was going to get he would have taken a few more precautions in the beginning but its hard to justify the extra time/money/effort to be THAT safe before you know how necessary it would be. Can only look back after the fact and be like :facepalm3:

Overgrow was busted because they were selling seeds/supplies in addition to information. Could have been avoided by keeping them separate.

TheHive was taken out because Strike got greedy and was advertising his IRL business on the site and there were also backroom dealings that added to it being taken down as well. Could have been avoided by not being greedy.

ShadowCrew was pretty high tech. They were spoofing their IP address via an IRC botnet to show that it was hosted in the Ukraine and/or Russia when in fact it was hosted in the states. Pretty much got away with that part until two of their moderators got careless and were busted IRL then flipped. Could have been avoided if they were more cautious and didn't give so many mods access to sensitive info.

Much respect to the creator of Silkroad for daring to do what noone else dared to do.... especially to the extent that he did it...

the mistake he made could have happened to all of us (all your internet traffic is LOGGED all the time, several years back)

but now people will learn from his mistake luckily... tor is pretty safe still

he changed the world, for lsd changes the world
not sure about other drugs, but shrooms do too, and mdma, ayahuasca etc

It wasn't his fault the dude got hacked. As it seems, the dude probably got hacked by the NSA, and this "redandwhite" is too obviously a reference to the hells angels. Hells Angels, however, are notoriously bad at using computers /encryption. Hense, NSA.

I'm not saying he didn't hire a hitman, but i've seen a lot of people on reddit and the like saying "Good riddance! If he was a killer than fuck him, glad he's locked up"
Which is definitely what the government wants, they don't want a martyr against the drug war. they want a villain

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.” (attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville political philosopher Circa 1835)

I'm sure most people would take any necessary steps to keep out of trouble, DPR especially.
He should of already left USA like a year ago to some South American country which can't get to him.

This bust is sad because SR prevented countless number of deaths due to drug dealing.
People will always have a craving for drugs, SR made it safe and non violent. But the Government are not interested in saving human life.

With 80 million dollars you should have fucking quit, all the money in the world to do whatever you want and I am sure he could get whatever party favors for free whenever he wanted. This is some A-typical Heisenberg bullshit, he's not in the making money business, he was in the "EMPIRE BUSINESS" which ends in two ways. Getting jailed and raped or getting killed. Either way, bye, bye freedom.

That was a shame to see this on the news, I loved just browsing the site, like a kid in a candy store with no money.

It will be missed, but I'm sure there's already other sites out there that are just a couple clicks away, and always will be
