difficult orange mushroom
    #18922111 - 10/02/13 03:57 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Growing in Southeastern Georgia in some mixed forest, quite possibly attached to the root of a laurel oak. Kinda bruising at the base, but softer than I imagine any gymnopilus would be.

The blue here is reflected sunlight, the bruising is green

annnnd the cap:

 sitting on a piece of paper now, maybe a print color in a few hours (it's a bit old). It just struck me as something I hadn't seen before. guesses?
Sorry for 2 shitty photos

i suppose those may be G. luteoviridis.
the veil appearing near the apex of the stipe is promising...
however, a look at the pleurocystidia frequency and spore size would help differentiate them between G. aeruginosus.

cool finds.
