Habitat: Ne Ohio. growing at the base of live tree and buried wood with moss. noticed green on the ones I pinched but couldnt tell whether it was bruising or discoloration from the moss.


the tree they were growing off of.

You know I thought thats probably the case. Just figured since the bases are bulbulous and the tinged green and the stems werent woody they might be gymns. TY for your fast reply and help bloodworm!:mushroom2:

I might add there were only like 2 out of a hundred that were growing from the tree. The rest from buried wood.

Sure thing and TY!!! I dont know my trees for jack. Figured the pic of the leafs would help ID it :wink: I will go back in the spring looking there for sure now u said that lol. Ive never found a morel. I didnt start mushie hunting until mid summer this year :frown:
