in a book i was just reading about mushrooms they described this scene
there were two expert mushrooms hunters both 80 years old, one japanese and one american
the american was old, grey, withered and stooped. He did seem fully coherent and walked as though it took extreme effort and caused extreme stress.
the japanese man looked to be in his early 50s. He had life in his eyes and a spring in his step and ran all around the convention sharing is knowledge in a friendly and warm manner.
when asked about his good health he attributed it to drinking reishi tea every day of his life since he was a boy.
The author then tells another story about some youths he meets in the woods, two young girls about 16 or 17, they are sharing drinks from a thermos, curious the author asks them what they are drinking suspecting it is booze. Reishi tea they reply. The author found this intriguing because most younger people arent into mushroom hunting in America and most American youths would be drinking soda or juice, not a mushroom tea. They two girls explain this is what their grandparents drink and they consider it to be one of the healthiest things for you, and they want to continue the tradition.
Now keep in mind the authors stories sounded totally staged to me but they are written as though thy are first hand experiences and eludes to some of the affects to tea is perceived to have. I personally have done no research with the tea as ive never had it, so i really dont know what it does.

Thank you for this response. I did some googling, as one does, and the list of benefits seemed pretty long. My favorite was "antifungal" if for no other reason than it being self defeating (in the medical battle that takes place in my head)

I only go on face book if I need to try to get in touch with someone I have fallen out of contact with, maybe once a year or so. There is cool stuff that people post sometimes, but way too much inanity.
I think that's the biggest reishi I've ever seen!
