Nice, I'll be trying this method with pink oysters in a few weeks when my jars are finished colonizing. I live near seattle, so outdoor fruiting will be perfect.

For pinks? It's getting down into the upper 40's/50's during the night there isn't it? That might be a bit cold for some pinks! Like, kill them cold. Pinks are a tropical species.

Boooo, that's no good. Anyone want 6 quarts of rye spawn? Hah.
I was going for gray or Phoenix oysters, but so far all I've been able to buy are syringes full of trich or water. So since I got fed up, I went with the oyster I had. Oh well! Definitely don't have room to fruit them indoors!

I'm trying to order my Oyster strain from Fungi Perfecti. I'm not thrilled about the 'organization' structure of the site, but it looks like you should be able to get pure culture from them, and I certainly hope you can trust Paul Stamets company to send you a quality culture.

Aw don't give up that easy, try 'em on the countertop and mist a lot! I've got an extra wedge of P. columbinus I just cut if that would help any. They'll do awesome outdoors right about now. (if you can work from a wedge of course)

I got a replacement oyster syringe for my syringe full of trich today. It's pearl oyster, hopefully that'll do fine outdoors. I'll still try the pinks outdoors too, but I've got no room for fruiting things in a heated room right now, all I have is my outbuilding, which is unheated.

Hi. Are you interested in shipping those down south where it's still warm? I want to try pink oysters since it stays warm/hot here from March to late October.
Anyway, I could trade you for some Pearl Oyster. PM me if you are interested.

Haha, I think that would cost wayyy too much. I'm going to just make the laundry basket and put it outside, it's supposed to warm up here anyway.

Alright, I tried!! I read that it is extremely fast growing mushroom that fruits easily, so it should work out fine. Good luck!!
