If you're looking for a straightforward tek then you can case the colonized grains and fruit that in a sgfc.

Any whole grains should work, although I'd prefer rye the most for the ease and WBS second. I'd go with using the rye or WBS grains rather than the BRF if using for spawn.

Pans need manure though, not just straight grains.

They're quite similar to cubes when it comes to the environment.
Grains are spawn and manure is a bulk substrate so you would inoculate the grains and spawn that to the bulk substrate, manure.

I should rephrase that, they need manure for it to be anything worth while.

Thanks Sagescruffy thats what i was looking for. How do they compare to cubensis on bulk to potency ratios.

Just use the syringe. Use the agar when you get some prints.

Pans are several times more potent than cubensis, so whatever yield you get can be multiplied by 2x-3x or more. Then considering pans need less substrate (like half as much) you can then double that number once again. So it's possible that pans actually yield more total alkaloids from a bulk grow compared to Cubensis.

I haven't used manure yet (although I've set some aside for the future), but I've read that it needs to be fully dehydrated, and leeched by water and sun until grey. So aged at least. I don't think the colour of the cow it came from matters.

Ah! Well in that case, I'd like to know the answer to that too, I've got some bagged manure from a store that was laying around, I was just going to try it out later alongside the stuff is collected.

MacMerdin did a modified PF tek grow with store bought manure (scotts brand) which he posted in the grow logs section. Not sure how scotts brand compares to black kow, but I do remember seeing others have luck using black kow too.
