terrarium setup
    #1891696 - 09/07/03 06:40 PM (20 years, 6 months ago)

hello there my buddy made a terrarium out of a bigass rubbermaid container and it has like vents on the sides so he threw a cool mist humidifier in there to keep the humidity high (he's too lazy to build the hoses setup and the container is big enough to fit the humidifier anyway). The lid doesnt shut very tightly and it leaves some gaps, my friend was wondering if this coupled with the humidifier running constantly inside the container will allow for enough air exchange or if fanning will still be necessary, thx.

You are not getting any new air, Your just moving the air inside... You will need to fan and your RH is going to be toooooooooo high.

I think the holes in the side and top would allow air exchange and would release the excess humidity... that is just my opinion...
