The cap doesn't seem like a cubensis cap if that's what you were hoping for, but it seems like you're on the right track! Either way, keep it up!

Also Ive been finding these not on the patties but in shady spots along hills, more so of where rain water would wash down the grassy hillside possibly distributing spores away from the manure. They attach to the soil though and do not bruise. Me and a buddie being the dumbasses we were two years ago ate them raw and felt very mild effects, but then again it could've just been in our heads. But yesterday I ate a great handfull of them both dried and raw, they had an earthy taste to them but I swear they mellowed me out, id consider it a moderate pot kindof high, it was like i was just content with the world. Someone suggested Lacrymaria but I beg to differ with these cows being fed a primarily grass and hay diet

Is coprinoid a genus?  No?  Then why is it italicized?

The op found a Coprinopsis species.

I'm no t.I. by any means... but I have found similar ones and had them I.d.ed. but no, the ones you found are not active. Use the search bar on here and look for cubensis...you'll find everything you will ever need!

Coprinopsis and Coprinellus are harder to separate without microscopic analysis. Veils are often more noticeable in Coprinopsis, but this is not always the case. Species with an ozonium (an orange mat of fibers around the stem base) belong in Coprinellus, as do species with mica-like granules on the cap surface and species that are only partially deliquescent. Ultimately, however, microscopic features (especially the type of pileipellis and the disposition of veil elements) must be consulted for most species. For a clear summary of apparent morphological separators among coprinoid genera, see the excellent table (Table 2 on page 36) in Keirle and collaborators (2004).

What region of NC are you in? Psilocybe cubensis is usually found near the southern/coastal areas of the state.

Also, it's October and unless you're along the Gulf, they may not be in season anymore...

Here's a link to the Shroomery Sponsors Forum: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/postlist.php/Board/18

They have a few spore vendors that are reputable. I've never dealt with Hawk's Eye, but I hear they are really good and if I ever needed something I would probably contact them first.

That is fine, usually when people use italics or underline on mushroom names they are trying to look smart and copy how mushroom names are supposed to be written.  I was just poking fun, since calling them 'coprinoid sp.' tends to have the adverse effect of teaching new users that its a genus name just the same as Coprinellus or Coprinopsis and not just a fancy way of saying inky caps.

Thanks man I appreciate the help! So it is legal to have a spore syrenge shipped to my house without feds investigating? I mean I plan on using them for personal consumption, not any intentions what so ever of distributing.

You're welcome.

As far as I know the only states where possesion of spores are illegal are California, Idaho and Georgia. It would be wise to double-check for obvious legal reasons.
