I know what floaters are and I used to get those. I don't know what you mean about the sky flashing or purple wisps of smoke. I bet it's just something about how your brain interprets the sky, kind of like how most people can see textures warp when sober if you focus hard enough (or lose focus enough). Most people just don't notice or acknowledge it until they trip then it's like "oh that was doing that all along". You're just an observant one or more prone to see those types of things I guess.

Yeah I've always been really observant.
I was thinking it was the gas molecules absorbing light and being scattered everywhere.

Wow. I was at work staring at the sky once when I noticed these in my vision ALL OVER THE PLACE. I thought it was some sort of acid flashback or something because there were very faint rainbow colors trailing behind the white dots it seemed. Really interesting to see a perfect good description of it!
