If you have a local brew store they might have some, but you can get suitable agar at some grocery stores, Asian markets, or health food stores.  I'm not sure where you can get petris but you can use a variety of containers that would work just fine for basic agar use.

Otherwise you can order petris and agar from any of the vendors for a good price.

This is impossible if on a trivet in water.  The temp in the jars will lag 20 minutes or so behind the temperature of the water you're heating the jars in.

To the OP, the obvious answer is a trip to the grocery store for another case of jars.  Either that or use spawn bags for pasteurization instead of jars.
