What is the point of making a thread if it makes no sense?

its makes perfect sense..

i have four jars im able to use to pasteurize.
my other jars are full of grains.

i cant fit all the coir in four jars so i have to do multiple runs in the same jars.

what can i do with the coir i have in the jars right now.
can i just set them in an ziploc?

and how long can i keep the coir without adding colonized grains.

you should have about 2 weeks if it's pasturized right so just set it aside

I would use recommend using pasteurized sub as soon as it cools. You know you can pasteurize coir in gallon ziplock bags? It works great. Or you could just buy more jars

it's the inner temp that matters, the benificial bactria spread fast during the cooling process

You don't really need any jars to pasteurize coir.  I don't recommend pasteurizing on the stove over a heat source anyway because partial sterilization too often occurs.  I instead recommend putting the coir into a large container, and adding 175F water to it.  For cubes you want to hold 160-170F for at least one hour, but it usually takes several hours to actually cool enough to handle.  Yes you have to drain it and squeeze it to field capacity, but I don't mind. Beats partial sterilization and the mean green sneakin up on ya.

No, usually if your temps get a bit too high its reffered to as a "partial" sterilization  Really if temps of +160F could sterilize you probably wouldn't see too many PC's in this hobby

I have pasteurized in bags with success. I have used the bucket Tek with success. Coir is very forgiving. I think using a high spawn ratio with CLEAN spawn is the main thing. Hell with a high spawn ratio of good clean spawn you could probably get by with doing nothing more than bringing the coir to field compacity with cool water

Bummer. Get you some agar and petri dishes to start your spores on. It isn't hard and you'll know for sure you are starting with a clean culture. It is actually very fun to do
