you should have a glass of water with every meal.
im currently working on a plan to avoid plastic because there are strong links to plastic use with food/beverage and cancer/raise in estrogen levels. especially if those water bottles had some type of heat exposure. which you probably wouldn't know about unless you tracked every water bottle you drank

You might be hypoglycemic. I would always get tired and sleepy especially after eating bread and pasta, and the reason this happens to me is because I am hypoglycemic. This means you need to eat a diet rich with protein and vegetables, and whole grains as your carbs.
Whole wheat (not just plain wheat, needs to be WHOLE wheat), 7 grain, brown rice, wild rice, corn, sweet potatoes, these are the types of carbs you need to be eating. This will keep your blood sugar stable and won't cause it from crashing mid-day.
Avoid sugar, sticky white rice, white bread, pasta (unless it's whole wheat or multigrain) during the daytime. Save the sweets and unhealthy carbs for dessert after dinner. It's best if you take simple, HI carbs after your workout at night, because it helps you absorb your protein better and crashes quickly in your blood at night, which means it helps you produce human growth hormone better in your sleep.
So, daytime carbs = healthy carbs. Unhealthy carbs = night-time, post-workout carbs.

in other words, OP needs to get sprouted grains from the ground, or 100 percent whole wheat at a place like wholefoods and not at a place like shopright
chances are He is not hypoglycemic, and chances are his diet just sucks

This is very true.
I find it happening to myself often, drinking a few glasses of water when groggy wakes me up in a half hour or so.
