I would say fall is more about preparing for what is necessary--death. But not directly about death itself.
That's why I like it, to me it has an ominous feeling that something is soon going to happen (death-winter) but right alongside that feeling is the assurance that what is to come, will be OK, for it is necessary for birth (spring).

I love autumn except for what it means. A shitstorm is right around the corner.

Autumn is only bearable when you're falling in love, otherwise it just sucks. This tune sums up being alone in autumn:
Forever Autumn - Justin Hayward
Justin Hayward is the lead singer in the Moody Blues, but this tune is from the 70s "War of the Worlds" concept album.

QFT,
I think it's the cool air creating that comforting feeling from the days when we rode bikes and played in the leaves. and the feeling of wearing a few layers of clothing to get that soft warm feeling. idk I'm stoned and drunk and I know what y'all mean. and I like it!!
y'all ever just go lie down in a bed of leaves and stare at the trees moving in the wind. such a wonderful feeling!!! fall and spring are definatly my most favorite seasons!!!

Fall for me is hunting season.

Also it's thanksgiving and the birthdays AND Halloween, the best holiday of the year.

I got a huge black walnut tree too.
Sucks so bad having to pick/clean all them up so that I can cut the grass
But you can't beat that smell. And yea the squirrels seem to love them. I've got an apple tree, and an asian-pear tree too.
I'll go outside to smoke, glance over to the side of the house, and see a family of deer staring back at me, then they just go back to eating the pears and apples that have fallen
They (deer) haven't seemed too scared of me lately. I always whistle at them hoping that someday they'll approach me

I just was outside and got the snorting sound from some deer in the yard. The other night there were about 16 just chilling. They are also climbing up the steps to get at the chrysanthemums.

no not at all, them thangs are good dads.
For whatever reason, I usually only see a doe or two and some kids through the day, but at night I'll hear bucks snorting and occasionally get a glimpse.
Was riding my bike to the store once pretty late (12-1am) and they tried to block off my driveway Rode through the grass making a semi-circle around them (while whistling , its gonna work eventually) and they seemed fine. "Seemed fine" meaning they didn't charge me
For cleaning up the Walnuts, I pick them up and throw them in a wheelbarrow, and dump 'em in the woodsier part of my yard. God is that ever a work-out for your back and I already have a bad back. Its about 30-40 wheelbarrows full each year. Sometimes as low as 10, sometimes 50. Bigass tree that's for sure
