many people in this thread mentioned he should have had a gun, suppose he did. In the same situation would it have been right for him to start wildly firing at everyone near him?
stop trolling, innocent bikers?

That's not what happened, the first biker is being charged for unlawful imprisonment.

Those "innocent" people should have continued on their way instead of blocking the guy in so that their companions could confront him.

what would be the problem with slowly driving away while honking your horn?
so my question was avoided, if he had a gun in this scenario, would it have been appropriate for him to start wildly firing at the group because 1 person confronted him?
i don't believe they were blocking him in. that first white car left just fine.
that white car also didn't run anyone over or get his face smashed in. IMAGINE THAT!

that wasn't the guy who started this, that was just someone who stopped because everyone else was stopping and something was going on.

They weren't blocking the white van. It was further ahead and in a different lane.

He chose to ride with a bunch of thugs that fuck with SUV's for no reason, he can thank his fellow bikers for his current situation.

you think all those bikers stopped simultaneously with the intention of blocking the SUV? a telepathic clarion call?
why would they target the SUV and not any of the probably hundreds of other people they would pass driving through nyc?

Yes, IMO that would be justifiable in the scenario that a mob of people descend on someone and a few of their members start attacking him. They may not be attacking him themselves, but they are assisting in the crime that is taking place by preventing the victim from escaping. If a truly innocent bystander does get injured instead, it's unfortunate but the person trying to get away is not necessarily going to be held legally responsible.

They appeared to be targeting him specifically because of the minor collision that seems to have taken place offscreen at around 0:27 in the video. That collision was 100% the biker's fault IMO, he pulled a short distance in front of the SUV and then decelerated.

"Prosecutors and police said Cruz, cut in front of the black Range Rover and.. still starting at the driver, slowed down so much that the rear tire of the chopper bumped the front of the SUV. He GOT OFF and APPROACHED the SUV."

The first three options that come to mind when reading your thoughts on this are:
1. You didn't watch the video. 2. You did watch the video, but with your eyes closed. 3. You're trolling. Hard.

I'm not unconvinced that Teamkiller isn't the colossal retard it comes across as being. Trolling is giving it a little too much credit.

Watch the video, and then read what the police said about it, they have already made their conclusions.

so he ran over 3 people that were onlookers, not the guy he hit.
what if he had killed that guy isntead of just crushed his lungs and spine? would it still be justified then? what if he had hit 10 people and crushed 3 spines? what if he had hit 100 people and killed 100 people?
what the numerical line where its no longer justified to attack onlookers because you're scared?
Have you guys never seen groups of people riding around on motorcycles before? every city i've been to has had people that like to ride around on motorcycles together. This one was national, these people barely knew each other. It wasn't a gang with a unified mentality.
here in denver, no wensdays people like to get drunk and ride around bicycles together in groups that size. If one bicyclist aggros a car, does that give the car driver the right to plow through a group of bicyclists?
i don't see how its every justified to attack people because they're vaguely part of the same group.
Psi, you know usually i like u, but those bikers were not blocking in that SUV. one guy tried to get him to slow down or stop. everyone stopped to see what was going on.
U guys sound like psychos for real.
edit: the police have not made their conclusions, the investigation has just started, and the trials certainly aren't over.
