To the wise yoga'ers
    #18911689 - 09/30/13 03:07 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

So I just started stretching and still doing it, while working full time, yes! so I have a little routine I do, but I was wondering if any of you's know how I can get past this little stump of mine. When I first started I pushed the limits a little too hard. What happened was I sat cross legged for too long and pushed it too soon. Now my left hip kinda feels soar, right in the ball of the joint, when I sit cross legged. Its sort of a buzzkill lol:tongue2: but I keep going with all my other excercises.

Anyone got any tips?:sunny:

Thanks!
Shorty:peace:

Try working up to sitting by doing shorter increments. Also try sitting on a cushion instead of flat on the floor. Experiment to find the right thickness of cushion.

Ahh yes! I've been wanting to get some sort of a yoga mat. A little bit of insperation. Maybe this will simply go away with time.

I find it hard to associate stretches with wisdom.

U'll advance a lot quicker in yoga if you focus on increasing Ur range of motion while absolutely relaxed and comfortable than just working on increasing Ur range of motion.  I think its good to practice just laying comfortably.  Don't do postures or anything like that till you find.

Yoga is pretty lame. I only went to one class because I wanted to bang this girl and she had a HUGE ass. (I did and it was great.) So it was worth it but I wouldn't go except for that reason.

I quit typing my post because I realized no one gives a fuck.  I just wanted to chime in enjoy who just made the best possible response to any conversation about yoga.  Yoga is stupid.  Huge asses are great.

I find meditation to be much more rewarding than yoga.

It actually wasn't that bad just not something I'd do without a girl I'd want to fuck. plus I've never been all that flexible I hate stretching but see how its beneficial.

Pulled 4 girls numbers last night meeting up with my favorite. Solid 8, an emt, however she is Canadian and I have mixed feelings about that

most forms of meditation would actually be considered types of yoga. There's a lot of misconception about what "yoga" means. Most people associate it only with bodily stretching postures (Hatha yoga). There's laughter yoga, singing yoga (kirtan), all kinds of stuff. I even consider Aikido which I practice to fall within the category of yoga http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoga :themoreyouknow:

 I've never tried it, but my almost constant laughter is often commented on by people that I know. I'm sure I'd be a natural.

I feel bad for anyone who thinks Yoga is only good to be the creepy guy who stares at chicks in class :whoah:

I went with a girl that was interested. She didn't have to put her mat in front of me instead of beside me.

I alternate poses between the floor and standing. Standing I'll do the tree, eagle, dancer, and warrior 1 and 2. On the floor full lotus, bridge, downward dog, cow, occasionally do the splits. I mix in capoeira from time to time from what I can remember of moendas, ginga mixes n stuff, etc.

As with anything, baby steps are key. That's about all it is. Listen to your body, you'll know how far you can push it. If you push to far you'll know next time.

Yoga is great stuff - very calming
