Possible contams

Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum and new to shroom cultivation. I have started my first project a little over a month ago. About a week I placed my colonized BRF cakes in my SGFC and I have seen no pinning yet but I have had some strange growth appear on some of the cakes. My eyes have started to bleed from reading threads and looking at pics regarding contams. I'm looking for advice from veteran growers. Do I have contams or does everything appear normal? What should I do if contams are present?

It looks like bruising and poor gas exchange to me. But to be sure I'd wait for a trusted cultivator or more experienced grower to help you out. If it doesn't happen to be be bruising and poor gas exchange you just need to change up your fan misting schedule. Mist more, fan more.

Thanks for the reply! The bluish or bruised color in the first pic  was partly due to poking it with a q-tip, trying to determine if it was trich. I'm about about to add more cakes to the SGFC but want to avoid so if it is contaminated. Hopefully, I'm just being paranoid.

The Qtip test is invalid. It's possible for bruising to wipe off, and spores from mold to not wipe off.

It looks like you could use more FAE in there, as well as more misting. Bruising is from cakes drying out. A qtip touching a cake is not going to cause that level of bruising.

But what is growing off the side of the cake? could it be bacteria? I just added more fresh cakes to the SGFC and I'm worried about contaminating everything.

It's aerial mycelium. The mycelium stretches out like that when it's not getting enough fresh air.
