PanSubb hunting. Where'd they go??
    #18911196 - 09/30/13 12:50 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Alright so I have this great spot I found over the summer. I found it this past July, after a heavy rain I went up to this field way up on a hill. After walking around for about 30 minutes, I had about 50 fresh grams of panaleous subbalteatus. I went back a couple more times, gathering about that much each time. The weather then was upper 80's to low 90's.
Last week we had a day of good rain, so I went up to the field but found nothing! What's going on? The weather now is upper 70's most of the time, and gets down into the mid 50's at night. Is that too cold for pans to be growing?

They must be finished fruiting.

The ones I found just stopped this week.

And they are now known as Panaeolus cinctulus.
