I found this tasty mushroom growing fairly high up in an old dead tree in a wooded park in nyc. (it came down in pieces because I had to climb the tree to get it down)

So here you go.

If you say so.
All of the dryad's saddle I had seen in the past was much more fan/shelf shaped. The caps of this were all very circular with a central depression.
I had read that Polyporus squamosus was edible but not that good. I had some of this and it was really tasty.

Pollyporus umbelatus grows in huge clusters and has very small caps. Your Polyporus squamosus looks this way because it's very young, which also makes it taste better than usual.
