I have recently noticed on a couple of my brf cakes (brf and verm), that they have some faint yellow appearing on the myc. It's nothing bright as day, I almost have to take a second look to be sure its there. It is only in small patches no bigger than a skittle, however I cant help but worry it could be mold from built up moisture possibly? Also, if I have a cake that has been sitting at about 85% colonized in the jar for lets say.....8 weeks...and I've already tried flipping the jar upside down to relieve it of co2 build up; is it worth my while to keep it incubating? Or can I make use of it by using it for spawn in bulk? I just want to know if I'm waiting for the right reasons or hoping into one hand and shitting into the other, thoughts?

PS the yellow discoloration I am noticing is in jars that have not been birthed yet, still incubating but soooo close, have been for a few weeks now ugh. take it from me kids, if you don't know the right "feel" for the cake, MEASURE

I had a faint discoloration on one of my jars for a few days, it was yellowish like you're saying. Thing is though, today I can't figure out which jar it was, they're all totally white. I'm confused about it because it seemed to be getting slightly larger (from the original growth point outward) and now its suddenly white again.
Right now my theory is that it was from the substrate, perhaps verm dust or BRF absorbed in the cake. My reasoning behind this is that the cake is pulled away from the glass, so the substrate must be compacted there, and could lead to a discoloration through bleeding (like when you wash your white with something red ). The sudden return to white would just be new mycelium growth on top of the discoloration. *I've also been kind of stoned all day, so another look tomorrow might reveal that I'm just embarassing myself on the interwebs.
Anyway, I personally would just keep an eye on it, and would DEFINITELY post pictures if you want any type of informed response; Otherwise everything is just speculative.
DISCLAIMER *I'm very new here, and on my first grow. I have very little experience or research to speak of, so please take everything I say with a grain of salt and wait for someone more informed.
Happy trails!
Edit: Just embarrassing myself on the interwebs here, turns out that yellowishness didn't actually disappear, I'm just blind. Anyway here is a picture of it, very hard to see.
