Food Dehydrator ?
    #18895021 - 09/26/13 05:21 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

I just found out that I have this really nice, big food dehydrator at my house.. but I have no idea how to use it.
How do I use it to dry out fresh, wet mushrooms?
:sporedrop:

Follow the directions. Use it on the highest setting.

These are the TEKs I use. They're all as cheap and easy as possible, just like your mom.

Mine comes with two settings and like 7 racks. Stack as much mushies as you can in the racks even if they don't fall into place completely, as long as the rack can spin you will be fine. As they dry the racks close up because of the lost moisture. I use the highest setting which usually is around 220F-200. Also I alternate the racks, because the bottom racks will dry faster:thumbup:

Not meaning to jack this thread, cosmickitty. I have always fan dried and then finished the last 4-5% of moisture with desiccant...can anybody recommend a quality dehydrator? Do you happen to know offhand what brand yours is?
