Habitat:
in the woods

waiting on spore print. not sure what they are, they have white dots on the side of the cap so i know theyre nothing special. but curious as to what they are.

The patches on the margin of the cap are fragments of its universal veil. The veil is used to help keep its spore bearing surfaces in a sterile environment until they mature enough to produce spores. There are a few different types of veils mushrooms produce that can be specific to genus. If present they can be of great use in identification. Here is a link to a glossary of terms to further help you with identifications. It will help you understand the dissection each species
