You were crystal clear. I simply disagree. I can understand throwing the WBS out if it were dissolving or otherwise being broken down from being consumed by the bacteria, but if the seeds are whole and intact then it stands to reason that the nutrients within should still be present. Wash the seeds off and sterilize them (which you should do anyways) and they should be good to go.

With that said, you are the TC and moderator and I am just harvesting my first grow. However, as this is a public forum for the exchange of knowledge, I don't appreciate being scoffed and facepalmed at for sharing my ideas, even if they are wrong. It is only by being wrong and correcting your mistakes that anything is ever learned, which I am all for.

I agree with RR on the shit stake sandwich, (don't know how it became a sandwich), but I feel like I have to chime in. There are two things he is saying that I agree with.

1) Your Grains have less nutrients because something consumed them. Which means less yield, and more problems, and no real way to know why it failed when it does. Don't use spent grains.

2) Everyone is entitled to their ideas and opinions, and when we post on this forum, it is up to the person asking the question to identify who knows their stuff and who doesn't. I agree with Dreaming Nomad on this part, we are in a community and should not feel afraid to offer our advise. (I side with RR on this), if you offer bad advise be prepared to have people contradict you.

I am personally aware of this because I have been a minor off and on grower for more than 8 years. I have seen Teks come and go and missed information in between. I recently came back and offered bad advise a few times and was corrected by the small band of trusted growers here. I realized that I had to not only practice the new info but also reread on what was now not used. Example, TIT is no longer a primary resource for incubation. The common consensus now is that normally it is not needed, unless you live in a really cold place like the refrigerator.

I hope this helps the OP.

We all wish you the best man, just toss those jars and start over with fresh materials.
