more underground freestyle rap, but music is subjective, remember. i think these guys compete.

hey, maybe, i ain't sure. i know FF crew are competition, though. i know that much.
what defines being beaten, anyways? more cheer? what equals better word play? i'd love to see the video where they battle. that'd be dope.
(PS: PEACE wasn't the tops in FF anyways... i'd say Aceyalone and Mikah 9 could maybe be better contenders. i mean, i've heard them both freestyle some amazing shit. haven't seen much battles, though, to be honest.)

You said nobody in FF has ever lost a freestyle, when in fact one of their members did and to Eyedea at that. I'd say Scribblejam is a pretty official way to determine who the winner is.
Not only did he beat him, he won the whole festival that year.
I mainly made this thread to find new material to listen to though so it's all good.

alright, yeah, i don't need to say it, because it won't fly anyways but... white boy inflection sucks, and namedropping other MC's songs and other hiphop groups that came before you and making comparisons, and using them as insults is... WEAK.
not that he was bad or anything. quite the opposite, just... those are what i see as flaws. he's always using the same inflection, like how many times can he say CHER CHER like a million times.
but hey, that's just my opinion.

dude, do you like it at all? i mean, if you think PRT just plain sucks, then i'd say you're crazy.
personally, i don't care anymore about proving that someone is better then Eyedea, clearly, this won't happen. so i'm just posting classic rap, to sort test the waters. to prove you wrong, so to speak, but not about what you want. (a better rapper then your apparent favorite rapper) this is just simply never going to work. hell, i gotta just be sure that you can even be listening to anything without trying to compare it to an idea in your head, that Eyedea is the best rapper. imagine that.
seriously, you don't like PRT? they have fast complex rhymes, that actually rhyme, have inflection, and are intelligent. in fact, i don't know how much more intellectual rap can get, so... i dunno, what's NOT to like? their image? the time in which they made their music? their skin color? the fact that don't correspond with an idea that rappers are at their best when they are like so and so?
i don't know waht it could be, but it certainly seems kinda facetious.

Yes, I listen to a lot of old school rap like Big L, The Pharcyde, Tribe, etc. Where did I say I didn't like that artist?
I can admit a rapper is more talented even if I like another one more. Just like I can tell you my favorite movie and admit that it's not the best movie ever made.

just trying to figure out why you think Eyedea is some kinda of meter stick for rap greatness? i would rather just talk shit about the music, not compare. but hey, it's your thread. i am kinda shocked that you haven't made a couple of these suggestions a sorta "winner" or at least made some mention of what was posted being "as good as" or "better then..." in whatever way... it's like you aren't even giving anyone a chance, really.
i mean, you might just really think Eyedea is at the height of genius in rap. that's your prerogative, man.

Yes, that dimension is multi-layered and totally unrelated to this dimension, but he can't be anything but Aes. Waddy, in comparison, successfully pulls off a multitude of characters for entire albums (and characters within the albums).
Aes is more like a narrator; he doesn't dive into the character, he narrates in his voice the whole time.

I once met him before he released his first rap song. My uncle said he saw him before he went into the studio that day to create that song, I can't remember what it was called right now but it was something I would hear people speaking of as if it was something that needed to be discussed, as if the song had taken a different meaning now that people were interested in it. My uncle told me he wanted that song to be played at his funeral, because in some ways he could relate deeply to the lyrics composed in it. So I must not suggest that he would be in anyway someone that couldn't be topped in rap performances, though, speaking personally I haven't ever listened to very much rap music. My friends listen to alot of rap music, but I usually don't, but, there are certain exceptions when it comes to that genre. I remember a friend let me borrow a cd from Eyedea, and I was going to play it after my wife went to tennis, which, she was planning on going to later with a girl she met last fall after a dance. Whom, after she realized that the girl had just moved back from France was actually pretending to be French when she was really Spanish. She detected that she was only incorporating the texture of a French accent while purposely concealing the fact of its acknowledged defects in proportion to the way she was pronouncing her words. Her mother also wanted to go to France last year, and she told her husband about it one day when they were in the park, a park I had heard about from a friend which in some ways resembled how I'd want a park to be. I remember she said that he came back from France a week before she first told him that, and they both were surprised when they realized that they were going to the same place. Her uncle said that she shouldn't go to France until Christmas, that is, that she should decide to go to Russia instead. He had recalled his experiences spent in Russia and she was oddly convinced that this was the "hotspot".

I clicked on this thread to say eyedea was the best rapper. Imagine my surprise when I saw the op. Aesop rock is also very good. Number 3 is wutang and then that's it no one compares.

no one really compares to anybody, that's why after you're two favorite new white rappers who rap about intellect and positives, you follow it up with an old school black rap group that raps about ghetto lyfe and slanging drugs, and banging heads; battle rap essentially.
NONE of that makes sense, does it? which is awesome. but yeah, my point stands, none of them are really comparable except guess who... the two white guys.

Wat? Have you ever listeners to wutang?
I don't see how Aesop rock compares to eyedea more than wutang. Aesop rock is hyper abstract. Eyedea is very literal. Wutang is in between.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned MF Doom.

they spin tings in a positive manner, as in an enlightening manner, as in they try and intellectualize rap. Wu-Tang makes raps about gang banging on the streets.
WTF are you and Teamkiller talking about?

Quite literally for people who don't like that style of music. I never said anything about not liking anything posted either. I don't even know what you're talking about with the rest of your post lol. You like to argue a lot though, everyone else was just posting music which was the point of the thread.

"redundant" isn't a word i'd use to appear impartial in judgement. your partial to your opinion. i think your opinion sucks. "street rap" isn't even a "thing" so it can't be "redundant". it's all the same shit.
so don't call it redundant, when it's not. that's just asinine. especially, if you say that you didn't insult it.

no, i just can't cope with your inanity. referring to genres, stereotypes and "feels" has become useless and REDUNDANT. you call something redundant, and you say that it isn't insulting? no matter. this thread is for posting music, well, it's also for making snide comments, apparently; in search for the winner. well, there have been several winners; Wu Tang was mentioned a couple times, and if you consider them lame (one of the greats, one of the "winners" you're looking for) then you're just talking yang yang.
why you call anything good, anything negative? probably because you can't realize the steamy stinklines.

I guess I'm just insane in the membrane. I like Wu Tang but for the most part they rap about living on the streets, murder, smoking weed, dealing drugs, hoes and money just with different lyrics.
And I don't even know how race got brought into this but you call Eyedea and Watkins my "two favorite new white rappers" when they both started their careers around the same time as Wu Tang.

no where near the propensity for being known though, i guess they're new-ish to me. i never heard of them but like a few years ago. guess i'm slow.
yeah, different stroke for different folks, i just happen to think that rapping about streets, murder, smoking weed, dealing drugs, hoes and money done with such wicked style and inflection is as good (and in SOME CASES even better) then intellectual/philosophical/politcal rap, abstract/wordplay/freestyle rap styles, anything... and same goes for those other rap styles as well.
i was just being picky with your wording man, i'm glad you can just play it cool, like let it be, yeah, i'm feelin' what yer sayin' man. it's something to be pertinent about. you're just trying to set this feelz apart from that feelz, i really should just post music.

A car pulled up, a fixed up cutlass A woman and a child climbed out and left it running They went inside of the deli, placed an order With the extra dollar fifty bottled water cause the daughters picky When they came out mommy gave me a glance That said man can love an angel but he's got to take the chance Already knew the deal, I lit one up and walk So they got back in the Oldsmobile, belted up, and took off
Always get goosebumps from this one
Immortal Techniques crazy good too
