NFL.....a rich mans sport?
    #18907932 - 09/29/13 05:04 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Ive been interested in football recently. But it kind of seems like a rich man sport :smirk: There is almost no way to watch this phenomenon without money. And not even $10-15 we are talking over $250 just for the ability to watch YOUR team or want the ability to pick which game you want.

If you dont wanna pay direct TV an insane amount of money for 5 months of viewing time, you have to go to a bar.....which = money. And even they might not have YOUR team.

The best I can do as a broke college student without cable is read updates online, or listen on the radio. How fucking boring is that :bored: Listen to an action sports game on the radio? Really? How fucking stupid.

I wanna watch the strategy, I wanna see some violence, I wanna witness a mini warzone playing out before my eyes but I cant.

Its a crock of shit, and a rich mans game. :failboat:

But even then, I have to go out and spend money to do it. Unless I wanna buy a slice of cheese pizza and eat it over the duration of 4 hours.

Only a fucking idiot would pay that much to watch a game on a screen...

I paid $15 for a digital antennae for my tv, free games forever.

I saw that free preview of NFL Red Zone and it was amazing. If I could afford it, I would definitely order that package. All the games in the Red Zone at your finger tips to see all the highlights basically. No down time.

dude I've got 5 games on basic cable today. and one more tomorrow. If you don't have tv go to a dive bar and sip on cheap beer. I fail to see how watching football on tv is anymore expensive than other sports. Tickets to games are outrageously priced, but I'd rather watch on tv anyways. I like to see the replays and close up shots.

I did the same here. Unfortunately I gotta watch Monday night games on stream or at a bar.

and how bout them seahawks? they are looking really damn good. Wilson is a beast.

How about my Dolphins? I'm thinking 4-0 after tomorrow night, but I might be delusional.

Seriously though digital OTA is pretty awesome, $20-50 on a tuner for the computer and you have a PVR. Not that I'm interested in watching sports on TV personally, but it is something it's good for. There is nothing "digital" about the antennas BTW, the frequencies are in the same range as the old analog signals.

Get some rabbit ears and watch what they put on over the air.  Totally free.  That's what everybody did when I was a kid.  At least now you can buy more if you want.  Stop whining.
