Costco membership question

I need to get a Costco membership, it would help save so much money on the foods. My sister and I have discussed getting a family/household membership, but I'm not sure we could swing that because I live in NJ and she's in GA. For folks that are more familiar with how they work, do you think that it's possible being in two separate states, or probably not?

I have a membership there but I have not encountered this situation directly. My guess is that they would not be into it if they caught on though, they don't want people to get out of buying their own memberships. For example my wife sometimes goes there with my mom (who is not a member) and some of the cashiers make a stink about my mom using her own bank card.
I think here there is one tier that is about $50 and another that is about $100. The higher one gives you cash back on your purchases, so at a certain point (~$3333 of purchases) it would cancel out your membership fee. In my area the Costco has the cheapest gas of anywhere which is nice too. Not all of the food etc is a good deal though I find, you have to be paying attention.

It's one household, so you'd need the same address.

I applaud your decision to patronize Costco. A good retail company if I ever saw one.

Because they will say no.
The only way to do it is to say both parties are living in the same house. All mail will go to that residence.
You need to find out if they require ID or proof of residency from both parties when signing up.
As soon as I get a little deep freezer I will be hitting up a Costco account.

I use a membership my grandma has after my grandpa passed away and she lives in another state. I don't remember how we set that up it's been awhile but there was no problems whatsoever so I don't think you would have a problem doing this.

Costco is awesome for meat and cheeze. Big wedges of parmiggiano regiano for 25 bucks.
Full strip loins or ribeyes for under 100$ and can easily net you 10 monster steaks, or 15 regular ones.
And 4 jars of organic pasta sauce for 6$, cheaper than garbage no name brands.
Just say you live at your sisters residence, and when you goto the costco in your state, say you are just visiting the area.

If you allow another person to use your Costco membership card, they will confiscate it at the register. You will have to go to the customer service desk to explain why you allowed them to use your card so that get a replacement.
