At that point I just figured they would progress to using guns so I just stopped watching.

In the classic Romero zombie universe from where pretty much most zombie movies borrow the rules, zombies retain certain memory imprints of their past lives.  It's actually pretty deeply intertwined with the sociopolitical statements the movies make.  Either way, using things like rocks and shit isn't out of the question--if you go by the classic Romero zombie paradigm. Which TWD does almost verbatim.

Zombies and motor skills shouldn't mix to me.  If they're shuffling around while moaning, they shouldn't have the motor skills to be picking up rocks and hammering out windows.  Otherwise it just makes them human, which they aren't anymore.

The Walking Dead just isn't my show  I get down on some game of thrones and sons of anarchy though

I'm not really excited at all for The Walking Dead. Loved season 1, disliked season 2 quite a bit until the back half and hated season 3. AMC fucked that show up but who knows maybe they can pull it together. I definitely wont be rushing home to see Walking Dead or anything, though.

Zombies have the motor skills to grab you and tear your arm off or bang on a wall.  why wouldnt they be able to grab a rock and use it? Its the same combination of motor skills.

i feel the plot has only gotten better, and I for one cannot wait for the new season.

Zombies should not have the mental capacity to understand and use tools.

Who says they understand   everyone seems to have their own idea of what a zombie is or should be able to do.  maybe I should change this thread name to "what is a zombie" or something of the like.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure zombies haven't picked up objects/shown any minor motor function since the first episode. I could be wrong, but that was the only time a zombie tried to open a door... in 3 seasons.

Some people just nit pick when they can't find a real reason to dislike a show.

Hey man if you're cool with the main part of the show being about non brain dead zombies, props to you.  Just because you're gung ho about it doesn't mean everyone else is

I may find myself coming back to it at some point.

The first season was pretty good, I was bored with the first episode of the second season so I stopped watching.

Might give it another go though. Not a huge zombie fan

I just think its a bit pretentious to not watch a show because of a singular miniscule happening that is of no value to the substance of the show.

I understand its not everyone's cup of tea. To each his own.

Well it makes up a significant part of the enemy they have to fight the entire show so...

I digress.  The characters seemed pretty decent to me.  I'll peek back in at some point.

no. the 2nd season does not get better. the 1st was good, the 2nd was eh, and the 3rd is better than the 2nd.

jane is taller than jim, but jim is taller than, jake. jake is shorter than julie, but julie hates jane cause she banged jim. jim doesnt care cause he broke it off with julie years ago. the weird thing is jim has a video that he filmed of both him and julie. nothing special, but he def tears that ass up. anyway, jane and jim sometimes watch that video of jim and julie. i guess julie finds it to be quite arousing.

whos taller?

The second half of season two is excellent.  the climax of all the tension built up from the season.

and in season tfhree the main enemy changes dee bee.  it builds on the premise that at some point there is more than just the living dead to fear in their new world.

Rewatching season 3 on netflix now to recap for season 4 comin out soon. Always been a zombie fan, and there are a lot of shit fuckin zombie movies out there that make me despise the genre, but this shows gets it right i believe.

I like the plot and all (zombies)... But I think that the show is actually a bit shit. Mostly very crappy and boring and even irritating characters, and the few really good characters that the show had, it killed off. It left all the shit ones behind. And the show has very bad sound production. I consider it to be like a B movie, but a B show.
