Yeah, so I got a bunch of leaves and they are fresh. So I know I need to leave them to dry for a while until it is "golden brown". But how would I go about "curing" it? It is T. Nicotiana. I heard though the web that I need to have it at 120 degs F for 6 weeks straight with intermittent spraying. I am not sure I want to/can do that... I probably couldn't even pay for the power to heat it for that long... Any ideas to point me in the right direction? Anything is highly appreciated.
Cheers!

My aunt is renting out her barn to tobacco growers and they are currently "firing" it.
This is a process where they hang it in the barn like normal and then put a shit ton of saw dust in the barn and make it smolder. Evidently it cures it just fine!
****edit**** I am currently growing some Hopi Tobacco and would love to know how you did cure this. So please keep us updated!

Good luck with the curing. I grew some tobacco a few years ago. I cured it inside in 50% - 60% humidity. The final product tasted like burning pine straw, very nasty. It was a big fail for me.

My wife has a native tobacco expert in her family and I am going to employ his help with the curing process. I will make a "writeup" about it and let everyone know how it went. The hopi tobacco I am going to grow is ONLY used in spiritual happenings. It is like 9-10% nicotine whereas cigarettes you buy are only like 1-2%. I hope I don't get sick when I offer it in a sweat lodge I go to sometimes.
