Today I'm Grateful For ...
    #18906622 - 09/29/13 11:10 AM (10 years, 4 months ago)

- My laptop, tablet and big secondary monitor. They're not space age but they both work and I can use them to launch my new operation as a freelance illustrator

- The holiday thing happening this weekend. I will get to see some fireworks, new people, generally be out among the tribe

- The Qi-Gong course I'll be starting tomorrow. This will get me moving, learning, meeting more people, hopefully being a better person. Also will give me some nice illustration ideas, about energy meridians in the body and all that Chinese wisdom.

- The desperate suicidal threads on this section of the forum, they put things in perspective and help me realize that other people have far greater problems than mine seemed to me. Shine on, you crazy posters

- My new Salvia lighter came in the mail, all the way from China, with free shipping. Ready to go whenever I feel like it. Speaking of which, my big healthy wholesome Salvia plants, which produce fresh new leaves for me to smoke and chew and ask for no more than light and water. Great stuff. Fresh Soylent :tongue2:

Share your daily reasons for gratitude today, it's good for ya. Spread it, like a wise man from India once said

I'm grateful for the following and so much more:
My wife
My son
The shelter I have for them both and myself
The food that fills their beautiful bellies
The family I have left that does not hate me
This computer I am using
This internet that allows me to type on the shroomery and growery
The money I make each month that allows me to take care of my family
My wife and son's health
My health
My dreadlocks (odd but true!)
My big beard
My janky ass knees that still allow me to walk around and enjoy nature
That I am receiving a free education in Computer Science from MIT

Namaste

I'm also grateful for my well-formed toes even though they are kind of hairy.

Over the past days I've also been grateful for:

- Torrents and p2p opportunities I've had throughout my life, I learned from those much more than I ever learned in school.

- Free video tutorials on youtube and vimeo, on painting, photoshop, illustrator, anything. It's like the Great Library of Alexandria out there, endless knowledge ready for soaking up, and you don't even have to read

- The young people at a certain free spore ring, that took it upon themselves to send spores to all corners of the earth for very very modest donations. May their good karma surround them with :heart::heart: all the days of their life, for I just found an envelope with 2 spore prints that I had totally forgotten about

- Spirulina, lecithin and piracetam and Yerba Mate. Herbs in general. Sweet green glory. And spice tea and coriander and cinnamon.

- Lemon tek, for it delivers unto us the powers that be within the shroom, fast and glorious and decisive, with no nausea whatsoever. Long live the limes and lemons.

- My newfound discovery that the basis of a lava lamp can be used to also keep your cup of tea hot as you work, while still maintaining a nicely lit atmosphere. Awesomely useful. Lava lamps come in 3 pieces, that glass thing with the wax is easily removable, leaving the base open for business.

Feeling good
Family
New people in my life
Known people that are coming back into my life
Life
Dreaming
Healthy bodily functions
Having enough resources for my current demands

This summer has been good for me and I feel better than I have in a long time.

My health
My youth
My treadmill for which I go on long jogs to de-stress
The food in my house
The shroomery
Having just started a new job that promises to be rewarding and challenging
My juicer from which I make juice every day
Having a forest in my backyard so I can be in nature
My mother who takes care of the house
My dad who is so generous to me
Having money to buy food/clothes/etc
My baseball cap

The people posting design and illustration contests over at freelancer.com - this stuff gives me a sense of meaning and purpose, something clear to work for, a sense of usefulness and focused drive.

The people over at shutterstock, for providing clear proper feedback on how to improve to get accepted. This again, smooths out the path for me, towards a productive engaging future that will pay the bills doing what I love to do.

The other artists at both of these places, and indeed everywhere online, for providing context, competition, tutorials and sharing, so we can all make a more colorful world. :nyan:

- VLC Player. I'm using one instance to work on, the other one to listen to awesome sweet Desert Dwellers, to keep a super fly vibe as get stuff done.
- Desert Dwellers. Jesus lord and Mary, what incredible sound. And they even offer some of their long mixes for free download. Extremely righteous and inspired of em to do so.
- Second monitor. Put a nice slideshow of the best psy art I have, I see it out of the corner of my eye and I can feel it starting to work :teleport:
- Salvia. I know I said it before, but after yesterday's complete and thorough teleport event with bells and whistles it needs to be said again. Unbelievable.
- The internets, endless knowledge free for any searcher to study.
- The rest of this day. Cash to be made, things to be learned, adventures to be had.
