Thanks a lot mate Now I can read up on those.
I'm pretty sure #2 is a medicinal mushroom so I brought it with me for tea ones I am hundred percent sure that it is.

#2 is Fomes fomentarius, not particularly medicinal from what I've read. #3 is maybe a Trametes, or more likely Stereum species.

Eh... I'm pretty sure that #2 is Fomitopsis pinocola... Red belted. Do the F. fomitopsis ever have a red margin???

Yes I don't think it's tinder konk. The konk colour is pretty dark gray, and the red yellow band makes it possible that you are right.

Maybe. I know very little about conks. Still not Ganoderma lucidum, the medicinal one you were hoping for.

It's really hard for me to tell which of the two it is... they can look quite similar. F. fomentarius usually has more of that "hoof" shape, but not always. And a search for pictures tells me it can have the red/orange belt, just like f. pinicola
Either way though, if it's fomitopsis pinicola it's medicinal and can be made into a tea. I just drank some. I don't have any experience with fomes fomentarius, but there's a thread here where someone said it made a great tea.
So you should be safe either way. Although I've read f. fomentarius was often used as a purgative... falcon didn't mention any rapid bowel clearing properties in the thread I linked

No, but I have ganoderma lucidium in a plugged log outside my home, it will probably take a couple of years before something happens with fruiting anyway
Also I have shiitake, lions mane and maitake logged up and moisting up outside. Can't wait for them to fruit
