Liberty Cap? First time

Hi everyone,
I'm new here as you can see from my '1 post' status so if I have posted this in the wrong section I am very sorry.
So today I went looking for magic mushrooms, I haven't found any before unfortunately. I stumbled across a nice field and looked around and saw LOADS of the below pictured mushrooms.
Could someone please tell me if they're liberty caps?

Thanks guys! I'll go and pick them tomorrow. It's privately owned land so I'll have to be sneaky!
Do you know any topics where it shows how to dry them out? I've searched but am not having a lot of luck.
Cheers!

Best way in my opinion is to use a food dehydrator with NO HEAT, or just place them on some cardboard and put them in front of a fan on a low setting. They will dry out on their own assuming the relative humidity in your home isn't too high. Then, once they are dry to the touch, you need to use a desiccant on them. Go out and buy silica (the stuff they put in shoeboxes) or you can also use epsom salt or quartz grains (for soaking up oil spills). What you do is place your desiccant in a 1-2 inch layer in the bottom of an AIRTIGHT container. Then place your MOSTLY DRIED shrooms in the container, elevated above the desiccant with a screen of some sort, and seal her up for a few hours. This will suck out any remaining moisture and ensure you are preserving them to their best potential. Keep them sealed once dried, and keep them out of light.

Thanks for the info buddy, really useful. With the fan, how long does it take for them to dry? How far away should I keep the fan from the shrooms?

I haven't picked liberty caps before, but they seem to dry as quick as Panaeolus species in my opinion, which in front of a fan will take a solid 24-48 hours. I just put them in a little cardboard tray, far enough away from the fan so that when they dry they don't blow away. You don't need a windstorm blowing on 'em, just a gentle movement of dry air across them will be best. Oh and HAVE FUN! Pay close attention, and bring back as many golden nuggets of knowledge as you can!

2.5 should be plenty! I'd just eat what seems right for my first time if I were you. Just eat as much as your body and the mushrooms are telling you. Don't underestimate them, however. Make sure you have an empty stomach and an open mind!
